EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATION
Our application process sets us apart from traditional job applications. When applying with us, candidates are required to choose a training session. They will either attend a training course to obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or demonstrate their proficiency in knowledge and skills with a previously obtained and valid Lifeguard Certification. For those needing a new Lifeguard Certification, we are delighted to offer certification training sessions. After successfully passing the certification or review course, candidates will be offered a position at Bearfoot that aligns with their certification and experience level and placed at a facility located nearest to their home.

To become an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard for Bearfoot, all applicants must:

• Must be 15 years by the final day of training
• Be willing to attend our Lifeguard Certification course, or;
• Hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• Able to pass training pre-reqs

TRAINING PROVIDER AND CERTIFICATION
Bearfoot is an Authorized Training Provider for the American Red Cross. This means we can conduct all of our training in-house. If you want to work for Bearfoot, there’s no need to seek a Lifeguard Certification elsewhere. This also means we can offer the cheapest certifications in the area for Employees! To obtain a Lifeguard certification, a person must take and pass a lifeguard training course. The course consists of a combination of online videos, classroom instruction, hands-on practice, and testing, and covers topics such as water rescue techniques, CPR, First-Aid, and the use of rescue equipment. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive their American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, which is valid for two years.
Certification Courses

American Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguarding & Emergency Oxygen (up to 5 feet)
American Red Cross Lifeguarding & Emergency Oxygen (Deep Water)

Upon completion of this course, participants will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED and Administering Emergency Oxygen, both valid for 2 years.

Our Certification Courses are only available to future employees of Bearfoot. If you wish to seek a Lifeguard Certification and not work for Bearfoot, please visit the American Red Cross Website to find a training provider in your area.

Course Details

New Certification – No previous experience as a Lifeguard
Recertification – Lifeguard Certification expired or expiring soon
$75 for Bearfoot Employees attending before Memorial Day. Payable at training or through a payment plan.

Test-Out/Review – Holds a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
No cost

• In-person training Shallow Water is 2 ½ days.
• In-person training for Deep Water is 3 ½ days.
• Half Days: 5 to 9 pm
• Full Days: 9 to 6 pm

  • Responsible for assisting other lifeguards while on the facility deck
  • Provides rotation times for lifeguards
  • Plan daily maintenance & cleaning tasks
  • Responsible for monitoring the pool activity and ensuring patron safety

REQUIREMENTS

  • 15 years of age or older

MONITOR

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to emergency situations at the facilities
  • Ensure that Patrons are entering the facility with the appropriate credentials set in place by each community
  • Uphold Bearfoot professionalism, standards and core values
  • Responsible for monitoring the pool activity and ensuring patron safety
  • On-site customer service
  • Maintaining daily paperwork and safety bins.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Complete American Red Cross Lifeguard Or First Aid training
  • Pass background check and drug test
  • Attend weekly state-required training
  • Positive & Caring Attitude
  • Must have reliable transportation to work and be available to drive at least 15 – 30 minutes

POOL MANAGER

SUPERVISOR

  • 19 years of age or older
