We embrace the fact that lifeguarding requires young adults to perform at high levels in extremely stressful situations. Our core belief at Bearfoot has always been to empower these young adults. With the title of Top Training Provider through the American Red Cross, Bearfoot employees will receive top notch training in Lifeguarding, weekly continued education and physical fitness, while improving customer service techniques.
Our application process is different than that of traditional jobs. In this 2-step process, you must first hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or be willing to complete and pay for the certification training provided by Bearfoot. You will be able to select the training course or review course in the application. Upon passing the certification or review course, applicants will be offered a position with Bearfoot that matches their certification and experience level.
To become an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard for Bearfoot, all applicants must:
• Must be 15 years by the final day of training
• Be willing to attend our Lifeguard Certification course, or;
• Hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
The first step is submitting an application by following the link above. Select the closest training location and the type of certification course needed.
Applicants in need of a New Certification or Recertification will be required to complete the American Red Cross online portion, “Blended Learning”. Access to this course will be sent out every Tuesday and Saturday to new applicants.
• In-person training for Deep Water is 3 ½ days.
• In-person training Shallow Water is 2 ½ days.
• 9 to 6pm
American Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguarding & Emergency Oxygen (up to 5 feet)
Upon completion of this course participants will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Shallow Water Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED and Administering Emergency Oxygen, both valid for 2 years.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding & Emergency Oxygen(Deep Water)
Upon completion of this course participants will receive American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED and Administering Emergency Oxygen, both valid for 2 years.
Our Certification courses are only available to future employees of Bearfoot.
New Certification – No previous experience as a Lifeguard
Recertification – Lifeguard Certification expired or expiring soon.
Test-Out – Holds a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
Payable at training or through a payment plan.
